Hawaii can be a difficult destination to exchange into since it is a very popular vacation spot.  It is my favorite island and definitely worth a trip if you haven't been. 

The Cliffs Resort in Kauai, Hawaii gets very favorable reviews.

Interval International has just released a significant amount of weeks for this resort.  The list is actually too long to post here but there is availability from March 2017 through December 2017.  

I currently see Memorial Day weekend as well as Labor Day weekend available.

There are some fantastic weeks available so grab it now if you can.  Make sure to add E-Plus so that you can have greater flexibility in case flights need to change. 

One of the major problems with timeshares are the exorbitant fees that are accessed for various transactions.  Reservation fees, upgrade fees, exchange fees, cancellation fees, guest certificates, etc. 

While these types of fees are simply part of timeshare ownership, they can add significantly to the overall cost of the vacation.  Despite these fees, timeshare ownership can still make sense and I still believe that you can get tremendous value and awesome vacations with timeshares that simply cannot be matched with hotels. 

Interval International is currently running a promotion where it is offering 50% off exchange fees.  The normal fee is $179 for an online booking so this promotion saves you $89.50.

While it would have been nice if this promotion also counted for the E-Plus fee as well, unfortunately, it does not. 

I have personally never seen this type of offer where Interval International has discounted its exchange fee.  Saving $89.50 is a great deal! 

Even if you may not have a specific trip planned for now, it can actually make sense to exchange your week/points using this offer.  You can opt-in to getting E-Plus which will give you 3 free exchanges.  

Basically, you can exchange your week/points for $89.50 and receive E-Plus for an additional $54.00.  I have discussed the various benefits of E-Plus here, including how to extend your ability to search for inventory 2 years in advance.

 If you book a week using this promotion and use E-Plus and the reserved week is for a week in November 2017 (12 months in advance), you will actually be able to search inventory for weeks through November 2018.

I think this is a solid offer and I would encourage you to take advantage of it while it lasts. You should definitely get E-Plus so you have flexibility to decide on the actual week that you want in the future.

I have yet to stay at the Marriott's Newport Coast Villas but it is on my to do list.

This property gets stellar reviews and is located on Newport Coast, California.

As you can see below, there are multiple weeks available for January and February, 2017.  While this is not prime season, this is still a highly desirable property that does not become available very often. Nightly rates through Marriott are over $250 per night.

Lake Tahoe in the summer is a serene destination.  The Lake is absolutely gorgeous and crystal clear.  Lake Tahoe is a great summer destination and very popular.  Obtaining desirable weeks can be tough.  

Interval International has currently released a few prime summer weeks at the Marriott Timber Lodge.  As of writing, the following weeks were available.  

The Marriott Timber Lodge is a very nice property that gets rave reviews.  Don't take my word for it but check it out below.  

Out of curiosity, I checked out rates booking directly and the week of July 21st would cost over $2300.  This is almost double my maintenance fees and I would only be spending 1/3 of my points so I would still be able to use the remaining points for another 2 week vacation!  

These types of weeks do not last long so if you are interested, book immediately.
