Adalyn’s First Thoughts on Our New Adventure

Last summer (in 2023) was amazing. We traveled around 4 countries in Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, and Japan. One day our family was talking about how much we love traveling and suddenly my mom just said, “What if we did this for a whole year?”  At first I was shocked and thought “ Is she joking?”  I soon realized that it was true. At first I wasn’t sure it was a good idea because I would be leaving all my friends and my home.  Over time, as I got used to the idea, I started to become very excited to travel around the world. I was excited to try new foods (like homemade pasta and pizza in Italy) , visit new cultures (like eating with our hands since I have heard that is the custom in India), and hopefully trade some of the stress of middle school for the stress of traveling with my family 24/7 for an entire year.  I am most looking forward to experiencing new things like the Colosseum in Rome, the Taj Mahal in India, and going on a safari in South Africa. I am the least excited about constantly packing up and heading to different airports. I think it will be exhausting moving from place to place but it will be worth it.
